Not much to say...

I love this hotel, not only the NY one but all Sofitels. They treat all guests with so much respect and make your stay as easy and enjoyable as they can. If you need a reservation somewhere they will take care of it and reccomment the best places in the city for you to go.

I really loved the quiet sophistication of this hotel. The location is very convenient to Broadway and TS. The bellhops were on point with taxi and directions. It is a little pricey but the ambiance and details in the rooms more than make up for the extra coins.

I spent the past weekend in NYC and got a great deal on the Sofitel in NYC. The rooms are spotless, beds are comfortable, options are endless. Also, it is right in Times Square so if you're planning on seeing a show and don't want to walk or spend a fortune on a taxi, stay here! I would recommend this to anyone looking for an upscale, restful stay in the city.

I've had a great stay there - large room & bathroom. The room is very clean and the service is friendly. The best part was the bed - it's very soft and comfortable. There's no wireless internet in the room but you can still go online (internet jack provided). I don't remember there being an ethernet cable though so bring your own. Internet is high speed, not dial up. There's also a great but pricey french restaurant if you're hungry.

This is the first time I've ever felt compelled to write a review - but this hotel was absolutely fantastic. Very friendly, professional, and helpful staff. Everyone from desk clerks, housekeepers, and the concierge were polite and friendly. The rooms and bathrooms are large for NYC, very soft beds and large bathroom with large tub and separate shower complete with fresh orchids and scented candles. The location is great for sight-seeing as well as easy access to the theatre district. We walked just about everywhere we went. I will never stay at another hotel in NYC - this one is perfect!

Great Hotel, great service, great location, great room... just great!!! Very romantic if you are going to spend your special occassion there!!

The hotel's location was perfect - two blocks south of times square. On top of that, the hotel was so gorgeous...unbelievable, the marble and foyer were so warm. The staff was brilliantly friendly - the concierge, the front desk, and the bellboys. I would highly recommend this hotel to anyone. Most impressive was the room...the bed was the best; seriously the best night sleep I've ever had. Only downside is the price of the bar - the cocktails are quite expensive $13-$16.

We got a great rate on this 4 star hotel and it was terrific. At first we were slated to be on the lower floors due to the great rate but they put us on the 10th floor. Very clean room, large bathroom and quiet. Great little bar. A bit pricey. The staff was very courteous although the conceirge was a bit snooty. High class clientele. Location was perfect. In the theatre district but on a quiet street. The Algonquin is two doors down. Would definitley stay there again

I was taking my boyfriend to NYC for his birthday, his first time, and really wanted to show off NYC. I booked the Sofitel b/c they let me check out at 4pm (b/c I became a Sofitel card holder). I requested champagne in our room to celebrate his bday and they gave it to us compliments of the Hotel. I also requested a high floor with a view of the Chrysler and Empire State Buildings and they really pulled through for me the views were beautiful. The room was quite large, exceptionally so for NYC standards and everyone was friendly. I can't say enough about how pampered and comfortable he felt. Now that I'm a card member, Sofitel is my first choice in hotels!

Among NYC hotels this ranks up there at the top. It is still new and untarnished. Gives the guests a smallish comfy feeling. I like that. Rooms are not that special but they have nice bathrooms. Have Internet but not Wireless. Lousy minibar with those (touch 'em and you pay - but don't worry if you fiddle around just talk to reception and they will fix that). The pople seem to know what hey are doing and are helpful and courteus.

My wife and I fully enjoyed staying at Sofitel New York. Only five miniutes to Time Square and Two Minutes to Time Squre. We entertained friends at the French restaurant at the hotel. We all agreed it is one of the best French restaurant in the city.

Fantastic location, 5 minutes to time square and 5 mintues to 5th Ave. It is very elegant and has a European touch. As a businessman, I stayed from Wednesday through Saturday in Nov, 2004. I felt so comformable with its location that either for my business contacts or my family gatherings. I strongly recommend that you dine at its French restaurant, one of the best in the city of New York

From the hustle and bustle of 44th street (the hotel is perfectly placed between Times Square and Fifth Ave) you enter the peaceful haven of french style and comfort of the Sofitels lobby. The staff were all courteous; from the welcoming receptionists to the discreet maid service and friendly doormen. The location is perfect and just 5 mins from the subway to get to the rest of the city. Rooms are large for NYC. The atmosphere created by the furnishings is warm and cosy. The bathrooms offer a greater degree of style with vases of orchids and candles adding the extra touches which make all the difference. The Red Flame diner is just a few doors away and a great place for breakfast. We stayed for one week and enjoyed every second, we will definitely stay at the Sofitel again and I can't recommend it highly enough.

After messing up our reservation, I was less than pleased with the staff at the Sofitel. Yes it is a clean, wonderfully appealing hotel however the staff's ability to make up for a mistake will cost them my stay in the future. When they lost our reservation they simply apologized and pushed us into a room that we didn't want but still made us pay for. We had a problem with getting our bags delivered to our room (they lost them) and they were very concerned at our request for a 4 PM checkout time (I am an exclusive sofitel member granting me that request any time I ask). They lacked a morning paper and the rooms were a bit small. On the plus side, great location, bell-hops were great and you can't beat the style.

Excellent location and room. Very very clean. The check-in was very fast and friendly. Room service menu is excellent. We stayed Fri (12:00pm check-in!) to Sat (asked for late check-out and were granted - 1:00pm). This hotel has a "Boutique" feel to it - We were very impressed (we stayed at The Peninsula Hotel before and now feel that it is way overpriced compared to the Sofitel) Booked it through Expedia: $149 + 25.87 (tax/svc) = $174.87 - Great Value!!

Great retro decor! Too bad I was only there one night and couldn't really enjoy our lovely room for long. Neato furniture and decor, wish I had checked out Gaby's. This place is right beside the Algonquin, for those Dorothy Parker/1920s fans out there. Cheers!

My companion and I were very impressed with Sofitel. The service was good, the room was very nice and the "breakfast in bed" room service hit the spot. Not to mention, it was in a very convenient location. I would recommend Sofitel to anyone. Overall we were very happy and would surely stay there again.

Stayed here for a weekend catching a show. From the moment you walked in, greeted with open arms. The staff is very friendly and helpful. The concierge is very informative for nightlife and restaurants, and the room was very accomodating.

Good room with a great stone/glass bathroom. Allowed noon check-in. Poor concierge knowledge on restaurants near a particular theater. $1 per local call, no morning newspaper, and no free coffee made me miss the Marriott.

After disappointing stays at major hotels around the city, I found a great deal on a suite at the Sofitel. I must say the absolutely best and most friendly staff I found (they go out of their way to help.) Huge room with excellent views of the city, great location and very quite and comfortable. Perfect for business travelers after a long day at the office.
